VILLAGE OF HARRISON - DIRECT INSTALL

PHASE TWO OF THIS GREAT PROGRAM IS UNDERWAY FROM NOVEMBER 1, 2020 TO MARCH 31, 2021!

The demand for electricity is growing fast. Limiting electricity use in certain areas, both overall and when demand is high, can reduce the risk of power outages and avoid expensive, disruptive infrastructure upgrades.

​

It's On Electric Company is the Program Delivery Agent for BC Hydro and FortisBC's Village of Harrison Direct Install Program.   This initiative provides FREE energy efficient upgrades and home assessments to all single family homes in the Village of Harrison Hot Springs.

How it works:​

​

  • If you live in the Village of Harrison, please complete an application form found HERE.  

​​

  • After review of your application and confirming address eligibility, you will be contacted by one of our representatives for a quick phone interview to discuss the characteristics of your home. 

​​

  • One of our educated evaluators and a certified electrician will visit your home and complete a free home energy assessment including conducting thermal imaging to examine the efficiency of your home and identify areas for improvement. 

​​

  • Energy-saving products are installed throughout your home. Products installed include energy-efficient light bulbs, controls such as dimmers, timers, and occupancy sensors, high efficiency shower heads, high efficiency tap aerators, SengLED screw IN LED lamps with occupancy sensors, pipe wrap for electric hot water tanks, outlet and switch gaskets, , SINOPE smart thermostats for electric baseboards, electric hot water tank sensor/control, carbon monoxide detectors (as required)and weatherstripping to reduce drafts*, Tubular LED to upgrade your old inefficient fluorescent lighting, and clothes drying racks to save you from using your electric dryer.

FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY, ALL ASSESSMENTS COMPLETED BEFORE FEBRUARY 19th, WILL ALSO RECEIVE A $25.00 GIFT CARD TO MUDDY WATERS CAFE, IN HARRISON - A LOCAL FAVOURITE!

  • NEW  Phase 2 of this program now includes the opportunity for participants to trade-in any old incandescent inefficient exterior Christmas light strings for either C6 or C9 LED exterior strings available in white or multi-colour. If you participated in Phase 1, please note that you can still participate in this part of the program.  No application is required, please just give our office a call to join in and we will visit your home.

  • NEW  Phase 2 of this program now includes the opportunity for participants to have a secondary fridge or freezer removed from your home at no-cost to you.  Please allow us to take away your old inefficient appliances that are taking up space and using energy!  (This offer is available for Phase 1 participants, please contact our office)

  • Your energy evaluator will then provide you with basic advice and tips for how you can improve your home’s efficiency even more to make it more comfortable for you and your family.​

​​

  • You will be provided with a simple summary report on further opportunities for energy savings, outlining potential rebate opportunities and programs so that you can continue with your energy saving endeavours!
